Try here.

If you're lucky, the ICs are socketed. They'll probably be dirty. You can clean them.

It's likely that it'll need recapping. This can be a tedious and expensive process.

The transformers are likely to be eh. The backplane is likely to be eh. If I were you, I'd walk away now.

The kleinbl00 in this saga is me. Been there, done that. Peaveys suck ass, man. At least the Wheatstone had P&G faders and Jensen transformers. There is no amount of audio magic you'll get out of that Peavey that will justify spending any time on it.

Considering you don't have the vaguest place where to start to find parts, I'm gonna hazard the guess that you're in over your head. I could be wrong. In that case, I'm fond of All Electronics if you can find stuff there, and if not, there's always Digikey.

"board."

And again - you DO NOT understand the world of hurt you're opening yourself to. There are boards worth refinishing but they generally have names like API, Trident, Neve and SSL. I don't even know if I'd bother refurbishing a Neotek and they cost an easy 30 times what your Peavey cost. TAC? Absolutely not at 10 times the cost. Amek? This was a million dollar console in 1999. It's still working great. And they can't get 80k for it and haven't been able to for over a year.

"repair any board I come across" is also a completely wrong-headed assumption. You're working on through-hole technology. Mackie has been SMT since they abandoned the Tapco brand. Soundcraft and Allen and Heath gave up on through hole in the early '90s. Most anything you find (other than the Names to Conjure With listed above) will be completely beyond your ability to do anything without a surface mount rework station.

If you really wanna do this stuff, I suggest you start somewhere small and useful. Turning a Peavey into an even vaguely useful console is the kind of thing Rupert Neve couldn't do... and he'd turn up his nose if you asked him to.

in your local electronic parts store. In my neighborhood, it's called Raybel. Up to you to find your equivalent.

A good way to find it is to go to local TV or Radio station, and ask where they purchase their own electronics.

I was just about to ask a very similar question here... Anyone know where to get fader tops and 1/4 inch socket sheath tops? I got a soundcraft powerstation 350 under similar circumstances, but it only needs a clean (a big clean) and superficial fixing. Everything works, but it's as crackly as an IDM tune.
