And for goodness sake, let your poor santa know you've even gotten your gift! It only takes a moment. This is the forth rematch I've done where the recipient has not said anything about their gift. It makes people sad.

Same here. I never got anything, though they said they sent it (no tracking info, either) and I havent been rematched. I know its about giving, but its nice to receive, as well.

Same here. It's my first year doing it, so I was really looking forward to see my SS's reaction. Sadly, nothing. I know they received the gift cause I had paid an additonal charge to have it signed for.

Aaaand same here... I signed up for a rematch, but I have no clue if my rematch actually received the gifts, let alone liked it. I've messaged her, asking if she received them or not. Because if not, I'd have to start an investigation with the postal services. But nothing at all. She seems MIA. Which is a pity. Just wanted to make a shafted redditor happy, and it bugs me I don't even know if the gifts made it to her.

I would also say if you are regifting make sure you send a message to your gifter saying either you're still looking or you've shipped. I regifted for someone and tired to keep them in the loop. However my roommate hasn't heard anything from their regifter and is now assuming they will be shafted again.

The minimum requirement should never be all a gifter receives. I spent considerable time searching for my match's likes and updating them on the status of their gift every step of the way. Yet, they did not post a picture or more than a sentence listing what they received. I was a sad panda. Fortunately my Santa was very gracious and made my holiday season! Unfortunately they never revealed themselves.

Is there a way to find out who your santa was if they didn't give a username?

That's a valid question. She had a list of things she liked, and I chose something from that list that I also liked and I sent her something specific within that category that has brought me much enjoyment. I included a message saying as much.

I got shafted too... didn't retrieve my info till the middle of the night on 12/12, and marked it shipped with no tracking number at the same time. Came back on 12/20 to give me hope... it's been over a month now and not a thing... and no rematch either. :(

Ditto. There was a shipping error when the gift was sent back. They said that they would resend it after Christmas. It's been a month, so I'm guessing it is a no go for me.

I don't know who my ss was but I hope they read this... I really enjoyed the book, chocolate covered coffee beans and hand knitted reddit alien. I was so happy when I saw that little reddit alien I told everyone I know! Just yesterday my mother, an older lady with no clue about reddit asked me how the little reddit was doing! She said I should put him in cellophane wrap and hang him up somewhere so that he wouldn't get dusty :D That really made my day! So... if you are reading this dear ss, thanks again! To you and your awesome lady.

Likewise. "Shipped" on December 12 with no tracking number. My Santa claimed he did send it when I marked the gift as not received and he'd send something else (big surprise, it never came either). Fortunately, I got a nice rematch Santa who did send something.

Don't forget to mark the gift as non-received. If you don't, you'll be banned for non-confirmation. If you do, your Santa will be banned if he can't provide a proof of sending something.

I really think it would help if rematches were a longer timeline. As new to rematching, I received my rematch and it had no timeline associated with it that I could find. I had to mark it shipped before I could pick it up since I was away for the holidays.

my secret santa gave me a royal screwing... he marked the gift as sent on the last few hours before the deadline and never provided a tracking number.... obvious to everyone, i never got any imaginary present, i never got any reply from him, marked his gift as not received and i cannot afford a rematch.. needless to say, not a good experience for me, i will still do it again next year just because of the gratitude a person gets from the person he gets a gift from... my secret santa liked what i got them and they were really appreciative of it... all i have to say to my secret santa was shame on them for getting a free present from someone and a badge... i propose i am told who my secret santa was and they have the badge removed from him/her.. they dont deserve it at all!

Signing for rematch on the "not received" page means that you will receive a rematch gift, signing for rematch on the rematch tab means you will give a rematch gift.

If you marked your gift as not received and the Santa can't prove sending something, he gets a ban, not a badge.

We have had a long standing policy that complaining posts don't go in this subreddit. If we were trying to hide statistics we wouldn't show them on redditgifts. What we don't want is a subreddit full of people complaining or being worried, which is what happened 2 years ago in the first arbitrary day and it fucking sucked. The simple fact is that people who are unhappy yell a lot louder than people who are happy.
