And Pete has ambition, enough to keep him going.

New trend of female characters using sex to get what they want? by daffodilhillin madmen

[–]Adelaidey 1 point2 points ago

As far as Megan, Peggy and maybe Megan's mom go, they were instigating sex because they wanted sex, not for any complicated reason.

I love to think that Don's pledge to live at the office is truly inspired by the chance to get Jaguar, but does anyone else think he's looking for a good reason to avoid his wife and family during the holidays?

We've already seen him go to the office for no real reason during his weekend with the kids. We know he only likes the beginnings of things; is this more avoidance?

Disney Hunger Games tributes, Who would you pick? by safesexeduin Hungergames

It's a shame Rapunzel isn't in the mix. I'd love to see the final showdown between the Beast, Shang, Kida and Rapunzel.

Are the characters of Grey's Anatomy unlucky and immortal? by RoddBlackin television

My guess is that everyone will survive the plane crash, that they'll come back and April will have killed herself. That's really the only shocking death they haven't done.

Can we please have a TV show where the main character actually DOES get corrupted and turned evil? by Randommookin television

[–]Adelaidey 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Nancy flirts with "the dark side", she truly tries to stay above it, but she succumbs. She's evil now, there's no way around it.

The irrationality of Disney movies... by S2KPrincess92in funny

[–]Adelaidey 0 points1 point ago

Well, sure, but there are just as many wealthy women falling in love with common men in Disney tales as the reverse. Nobody at all whines about Disney movies making little girls think they have to be rich to find love.

Conversely, almost all if the Disney princes are stone-cold handsome, but nobody really whines about Disney movies making little boys think they have to be beautiful to find love.

Both sides get hit by gendered expectations, but what we hear about is how little girls are given unrealistic expectations about their looks, and little boys are given unrealistic demands about wealth. Why is that?

he has to be a wealthy prince

What are you basing that on?

Aladdin wasn't wealthy or noble, nor was the guy from Tangled, nor John Smith in Pocahontas. In fact, in all three of those stories, the Princesses fell in love with commoners.

In The Princess and the Frog, he's technically a Prince, but he's disgraced and penniless, and they end up running a restaurant together. The Beast in Beauty and the Beast is wealthy, but not a prince. Mulan and her love interests were both commoners, as were Esmeralda and whoever.

In Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, I don't think the status of the Princes could enter into it, because the girls in the story were unconscious when they got together. Besides, Sleeping Beauty was betrothed to that guy as an infant- just like Nala.

Cinderella you can have. Cinderella, like Aladdin, used deception and manipulation in order to marry wealth. They are the two golddiggers of the Disney Princess canon.

Anyone else dislike Sally's character? by yesindeedioin madmen

[–]Adelaidey 1 point2 points ago

I mean, his marriage dissolved because of his constant cheating and lying- that's a pretty major consequence for him and for his kids.

Well, her father is the king of emotional manipulation, and her mother isn't bad at it, either. Her time with a shrink taught her to be eerily perceptive. She's a baby monster. I love it.

People don't become SNL cast members AFTER launching huge, successful whirlwind careers.

At least nowadays, thank goodness.

My girlfriend keeps chanting "Deng, get up! Come on! GET UP, DENG!"

Sounds like Simba trying to wake up Mufasa.
