I like semi-auto shotguns. People like pumps for some reason. They think that racking the shell is scary. You don't want to give any warning in my opinion. Also when people are panicky and not instinctually familiar with their firearm, they make mistakes like short cycling and not chambering a second round. I have a few guns that I prefer for home defense, but the main thing is you have to know the gun. Know how to load it and operate it in the dark when you have just been woken up from a deep sleep. Now if you are looking for a gun for CCW, I recommend trying a few on and shooting some.
