If your talking about actually receiving a bill at the end of the meal, that's ridiculous. However, it is common practice to give a monetary gift in the ballpark of what you think the wedding costs per person. If you think its a $150 per plate wedding, then you should give $150 as your gift.

Lets face it, your not the majority. If parents want to shield their kids from certain kinds of behavior then that's that. There will always be racists and bigots and nothing is going to change it. But I bet you that if they weren't in a group, nothing would have been said.

Thank you for making this argument. If this is true, why doesnt every person in the county only make minimum wage? Doctors, lawyers, construction workers, bus drivers, etc... It is because of competition. No law is forcing hospitals to pay doctors more than minimum wage, so why do they? No law is forcing construction companies to pay their workers more than minimum wage, so why do they? It is to attract talent. There would be many more opportunities for advancement if there was no minimum wage law.
