They already got rid of the UAC menu clickthrough in FF13 beta, so it's already self-updating when you open it up. FF14 makes it completely silent so you don't have to see the progress bar menu.

The vast majority of crashes are plugin-related though, and FF does have a separate process for those. I've never had the browser taken down by a tab crash because of it. Occasionally (maybe every 4 months) I'll get into a situation where the browser freezes because of flash/quicktime and ending plugin-container.exe solves the problem.
