Lifehacker on introverts: "How Can I Avoid Becoming an Introverted Weirdo?" by Gorbellain introvert

[–]Gorbella[S] 54 points55 points ago

the first comment rips the author pretty hard:

"Portraying introversion in a negative way - as this article's title and does - is bigotry in it's purest form.

We are not "Weirdo[s]" we are people and until this article is pulled and an apology posted in its place, you've lost a reader.

You should be ashamed."

How do you take care of long hair? by theforerunner343in AskWomen

[–]Gorbella 1 point2 points ago

I'm growing my hair for the first time in my life, and it's super thick, and in between wavy and curly also. It's just past the bra band now. I too had no idea how to take care of my hair, so I scoured the internets for tips. This is what I learned:

  1. sleep on a silk pillow case or with a silk cap on. regular stuff can break your hair while you're laying on the pillow.
  2. when you get out of the shower, don't use a towel on your hair. It can cause breakage. Instead, wrap your hair in an old soft t-shirt for 5 or 10 minutes.
  3. say goodbye to regular brushes. Use wide toothed combs only.
  4. if your curls tend to get limp or fall out during the course of the day then its probably because you are touching your hair too much. Hands off.
  5. Keep the split ends trimmed as much as possible, to prevent breakage and weakening of the hair.

And then personally, I don't use shampoo or conditioner anymore. I give my scalp a massage every day while I rinse my hair, and that's enough to keep it clean and dandruff free, and not too dry. Also, I don't brush my hair until I'm about to get in the shower. It keeps the structure of the curls more intact.

Here are some of the links I used to learn about caring for long curly hair.

Introverts and weddings: How have you/would you celebrate? by touchyfeelyin introvert

[–]Gorbella 0 points1 point ago

Whenever my boyfriend and I talk about getting married, it ends up being an agreement to do an Elvis Chapel in Las Vegas or Reno, with maybe one witness. :D

I've never had wedding fantasies though, not even as a little girl. Also, both of us are introverted with a touch of social anxiety.

Why does my kindle keep breaking? by jawjuhhin kindle

[–]Gorbella 0 points1 point ago

I went through 6 kindle 3gs. I got to the point where I was pissed off when it broke again, instead of horrified. Now, I have a kindle fire for my main reading purposes, and I keep the 3g loaded up with books in the bathroom. Best bathroom library EVER.

I took this quiz today, and it kind of helped me understand why I fail at relationships so much. by LLumiyain introvert

This test helped me too, when I first took it. (INFP represent!) I think that anything that helps you to know and understand yourself better is a useful tool, but I would be hesitant to let it define you. People change every day. In fact, if you took the same test one year from now your results could be different, and it would represent how you've grown/changed as a person in that time.

Indeed... by carlconin funny

[–]Gorbella -3 points-2 points ago

The way you are putting it makes me feel like I have no right to be proud of the people I come from, which is just bullshit. Its like being rejected by your roots, and it feels bad man. Especially on the one day that American Irish get to be vocally proud of their lineage. We're not trying to take anything away from "Real Irish." Americans have a bad reputation, I get it. We're like that one guy at the family reunion that no one wanted to show up.

Who knew that the "real Irish" were such snobby cunts? TIL.

"Fake-Irish?"

So any person who doesn't live in the land that is generally agreed to have been the origin of their ancestors is fake? Surely you can see how offensive that is.

Teamspeak 3 over Tinychat? by [deleted]in introvert

[–]Gorbella 4 points5 points ago*

I vote for icanhazchat.com. There are a ton of reasons that I think it's superior to tinychat, and I'll try listing a few. If anyone has questions or other points to bring up please feel free to add.

  1. There are fewer ads
  2. webcam chat is handled better, and you can use manycam
  3. you can stream audio from your soundcard without the middle men of your speakers and microphone
  4. spin the bottle and rolling dice games
  5. text only option
  6. ability to temp mod someone
  7. You can make the text bigger and smaller
  8. other stuff

edit: you can silence people for a certain time period (30 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds)

This seems really oddly familiar. I'm putting in an official request for a video of you (or someone) singing this song.

Edit: Also this result from googling the first two lines is amazing.:

My father, Philipp Leopold Seligsberger, left Germany in 1936 with, ... an egg holder along with smelly Limburger cheese spread on rye ... sauerkraut accompanied by a local lager, always a favorite. ... My father's love of nature and ...... hand fighting one day, however, the stock of our gun broke off, and we ...

Do Introverts love marijuana or is it just me? by towmiiin introvert

Salvia is not something I would recommend to someone without knowing them quite well personally. I've had both good and bad experiences with S. Divinorum. But it is a one of a kind experience.

edit: Now that I think about it, I wouldn't recommend any drugs to anyone. I think that the decision to alter one's consciousness should be one that a person comes to on their own, without outside pressures.
