I enjoy sex, but I've never understood why people think it's so important. I've had sex with people I was in love with, and I've had drunken hook-up sex, and neither one was a mind-blowing experience. I find my desire to do it more annoying than anything. Every once in a while my body just gets "in the mood" and I feel almost like it needs to happen, but as soon as it's over I wonder why I wanted it so bad in the first place, and jerking off would have done the trick just as well.

Sex has never made me feel closer to someone emotionally, which is something lots of people talk about. Being intimate and vulnerable and all that is supposed to be this incredible experience, but I've never found it to be one. To me it's always been an enjoyable but mostly goofy thing that people do. Two bodies slapping against each other trying to reach some shared goal that essentially comes down to squirting fluids at each other. I'm no puritan, but it's kind of gross and silly when you look at it from the outside.
