i don't think it is, I checked the bios a little while ago and it was clocked at 1333mhz, even though it's a 1600mhz kit so I changed it back up, so I think it may be a misreading?

F*ckin' love this case, something about the inverted motherboard set up.

A noble effort with cable management, they're definitely not the easiest cases to work with!

It's called speccy, and then the other one is obviously the windows performance index calculator.

That all sounds very quaint. In regards to the under 21 thing, they've planned to go to a couple of microbreweries, do you think i wont even be allowed in even if i'm not drinking?

[Build Complete] What are some future upgrades to my long-completed rig? by Weeperblastin buildapc

[–]Jeci_NC 2 points3 points ago

I'm surprised no one has spotted this yet. But the previous gen i7 series are all ddr3 triple channel. You've got two sticks of ram. I would rectify this a matter of urgency as you're missing out on performance.

Also any further increments of ram will be powers of three, so I would upgrade to 9gigs of ram. Further to that, I would either crossfire your gpu or upgrade altogether as there are some really good price points put there at the moment.

That looks good, nice on finding cheaper prices still! You've always got the option to crossfire the 6850's after as well and you would still be better off financially than the original build!

check this out to see if the 6850 fits for you:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/291

If it doesn't it may be worth reviewing the gpu choice, but for casual gaming it should be fine, i'm using a 5850 which is fairly similar performance wise to the 6850 and it's more than enough for bf3/sc2 etc!

Afternoon dude, i was just having a quick look at your partlist, it looks ok but you definitely haven't looked at the cheapest retailers:

CPU: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/amd-phenom-ii-x4-965-black-edition-s-am3-34ghz-8mb-cache-125w-retail -£8.00

You could definitely run this machine on a 600W supply, and this one is very good value, corsair offer good products: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/600w-psu-corsair-builder-series-cmpsu-600cxv2uk-80-eff-80-plus-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-v23 -£20

Apart from these two pieces everything else seems to be good value, and in accordance with what Burgess_101 said, a 6850 would perform pretty well and you would save yourself a fair bit of money in the process. Having said that the 560's are pretty good cards!

My attempt at cable management SFF - mATX, what do you guys think? by Jeci_NCin CableManagement

[–]Jeci_NC[S] 0 points1 point ago

Small form factor yeh, the case itself? Although as far as mATX cases the antec p180 mini, is rather large!
