Yes, you may be right, I do value human life.

You don't see why taking someone's life away from them, is worse than imprisoning them?

You don't see why killing someone is different from imprisoning them?

By your reasoning why don't we just castrate every criminal, it'll sure cut down on the rape in prison. Why stop there? We could castrate any dead-beat dads who don't pay child support, that would certainly stop them from bringing any more kids into the world, I mean, they are breaking the law. I'm against any punishment that robs a person of a part of their humanity.

Capital punishment is barbaric, immoral, and belongs nowhere near a civilized society.

Um, no. Thousands of men are falsely accused of rape every year. Your suggestion is insane.

And for the record, I've been raped.

I'm always up for reading if you have some information, but from what I've read/seen, this is not the case. I've watched the tower fall a number of times. Again, I'll look for some of the articles I've been loosely referencing when I get home.

It wasn't just that it fell, it was how it fell. There's certainly reasonable consideration that should be given to it's structural integrity. Given though, that Tower 7 was 2 blocks away, sheltered from much of the debris, and yet fell, and fell the way it did, is highly curious. I've seen reports from international news agencies, (possibly Al Jazeera, I don't recall), where they interviewed demolition engineers, and it was the consensus that this was a controlled demolition. I'm at work, but I'll look once I get home to see if I can find a couple of the sources.

Also, for credibility's sake, I read these from credible news agencies, not one-off unbased blogs.

This is the real question. If it had been the two towers, it would be pretty easy to write it off as conspiratorial nonsense. It's the fact that Tower 7 fell, for apparently no reason, which held data for over 3 billion dollars worth of short sales, that were by the market's accounts, irrational trades, and that tower just "happens" to fall. I don't buy into conspiracies typically, but this fact is a bit too strange for me to just write off.

How the Christian Right's Homophobia Scares Away Religious Young People: The Christian right is increasingly out of step with how Americans feel about gay rights. This issue might be the one that destroys them in the end. by davidreiss666in politics

What disgusts me more than backwards views on homosexuality is the fact that politicians are very, very openly basing their views/votes on the Bible, and nobody seems to be as bothered by that.

Nobody? This bothers most people I know. That's the point of most of our discussion here on Reddit. That's what the ACLU is fighting against. That's what many activists are fighting against. There is a huge front attacking this ridiculous hypocrisy and unconstitutional positioning.

I actually didn't make it through the entire article. Sigh... More aligned with reality I suppose.

I'm so used to reading shit news, this actually caught me off guard. I'm realizing as I write this, this is the first time I've felt thankful for something our government's done, on its own accord, in quite some time.
