How difficult would it be for DICE/EA to enable players to modify their loadouts and gun setups online? Helluva way to kill time at work, don't you think? by mmeggersin battlefield3

You don't have the slightest understanding and somehow thinking you know it all.

Exactly how this whole thing got started.

Hollywood vs Reality: Officer-involved Shootings by Shiftyzein videos

Hollow-points are not "sure kill" rounds. They aren't carried because they "do more damage", but because they are far less likely to overpenetrate. It is safer for police (and armed citizens, for that matter) to carry JHP (Jacketed Hollow-Point) rounds.

CCW and drug testing? by [deleted]in CCW

[–]Nitron 1 point2 points ago

I went for a drug test while carrying and then didn't care. I informed them when they told me to empty my pockets and offered to go lock it in my car. They didn't mind and locked it up with everything else. This was in NH.

Mosin 91/30s can be significantly more accurate with the bayonet attached.

Weren't they designed/sighted to be fired with the bayonet attached?

I was told I could pick ONE to shoot from the wall...(more pics inside) by Ted_From_Accountingin guns

[–]Nitron 1 point2 points ago

Really? That looks like the wall with the owner's personal collection (opposite the rental wall). The consignment wall is adjacent.

They're usually not fond of people asking to touch/shoot firearms on that wall, so OP is probably connected.

WTS CZ-75B .40S&W Satin Nickel and H&K USP .40S&W by Nitronin Gunsforsale

Hmm, that's pretty tempting, but unfortunately I'm trying to sell these pistols in order to pay for a .45 Osprey. Sorry!

It's not as comfortable as 9mm. I find .45 to be preferable over .40 as well. It's the snappiness, I guess, and I just don't shoot as well with it (although the CZ-75 is easily the most comfortable .40 I've fired). I love .357 Sig, though :)

I love the CZ-75 platform (bought two more after this one, a 75 Compact for EDC and 85 Combat, both in 9mm), so the .40 just sits in the safe. I figure it'll better serve someone else.

Yes, I can do that, but we'd have to work out details for shipping and payment. If you're interested, we can figure something out.

Bought my first handgun today. CZ75 by hawkeyez900in guns

[–]Nitron 0 points1 point ago

Ambi controls, mostly. The 85 Combat has a few extra features: lack of a firing pin block (results in a nicer trigger pull) and overtravel screw on the trigger.

What's really weird is that the 75 has an ambi safety in .40 but not in 9mm.

What is the purpose of this muzzle device? Seen on a lot of custom ARs. by maverickpsin guns

I was referring specifically to having a permanently attached barrel attachment to bring a short barrel to legal length. That is, it's federal law that allows this.

MILLER: D.C.'s newest shooter - Washington Times by xmendadin guns

[–]Nitron 1 point2 points ago

cartridge cases, shells, projectiles (including shot), primers, bullets (including restricted pistol bullets), propellant powder, or other devices or materials designed, redesigned, or intended for use in a firearm or destructive device.

This is all one list. You're applying the final item in the list as a modifier on the first item in the list. In the case of "this or this or this", only one of them has to be true. Casings would still be illegal.

I'm pretty sure that's federal law.

Went to an indoor range for the 1st time today! Shot 7 different pistols to figure out which one to buy as my first gun. Here are my impressions. by taking_a_deucein guns

The grip felt all wrong, way too loose, pinching my right thumb somehow and the web of my left hand just felt weird (left handed shooter).

I'm a lefty and I love the CZ 75. I suspect your grip wasn't high enough to be comfortable. There really shouldn't be any gap between that webbing and the beavertail. I've fired everything on your list except the P2000 and M&P, and I think the CZ 75 is easily the most comfortable thing there. I definitely suggest giving the CZ 85 Combat a chance: 9mm, ambidextrous safety and slide release (not mag release, however). Of course, if you really want a rail, this isn't the way to go.

If you go with a Sig, you'll probably never be able to hit the slide release (I certainly can't, not even on a P239), so you might want to train with the slingshot technique. I've found I can hit the decocker fairly easily with my trigger finger.

You might also want to look at the FNX (FNX-9 linked, but it also exists in .40 and .45), as it's fully ambidextrous (safety/decocker, slide release and mag release) and has a rail. I have the .45 "Tactical" version and it's fantastic, but way too large for carry.

I think the Ruger LCP is also designed that way, but I'd have to double-check the manual.

"Every one of the criminals who has shot at our police officers possessed his gun illegally" ...and the solution is to make them more illegaler? by testu_nagouchiin guns

Correct. The first clause (technical name escapes me at the moment) is merely one reason that the framers stated for explicitly mentioning the right, which belongs to the people. It doesn't say that only the militia may bear arms.

Home Invasion for those who wear glasses? by jallen2in guns

[–]Nitron 0 points1 point ago

I just turned off the light, took off my glasses and experimented with dry-firing my LCP with Crimson Trace. The dot is large and bright enough that hitting the target wouldn't be a problem at reasonable (room-sized) distances. The real difficulty is with actually identifying the target, for which I don't see a good solution.

I also tried the same experiment with an FNP 45 Tactical with Trijicon RMR: I couldn't acquire the dot at all.
