TROPHY CASE

Took me a while to understand Twitter. by wickens89in funny

[–]NonAmerican 0 points1 point ago

After the Weiner scandal, twitter would make a mint by offering a paid service of an email send for each tweet requesting a confirmation with the content of the tweet.

But if everyone thinks like that nobody will say it to him and he'll feel left out and forgotten. So when you see him you ALWAYS have to say that.

But, if the starting conditions were exactly the same same, then the outcome would be exactly the same.

No. There is no way to know the outcomes exactly.

the probabilities it predicts are certainly deterministic.

That's an oxymoron in this context. If there is a probability - of any kind - for the universe to be randomly different then it doesn't make the universe any less capable of randomness or not. Yes, it can be calculated that the randomness for example at the Big Bang would manifest more obviously today, compared to that if we turned the clock back only 1 day, but that doesn't mean that the universe is not fundamentally, partially random.

Uncertainty Principle.. read about it. The universe is partly random.

I don't understand after all this sub-thread I'm turned out to be the lowest scored and hence incorrect, who I started it. QM proves the universe is random, partly, hence there is no determinism.

I hope it's just my english being shit.

Actually, due to the uncertainty principle, even if history repeated itself, it would be completely different (provided we're not talking about a playback but a real repeat).

For example, if the big bang happened again, due to that not only our planet, most probably our galaxy wouldn't exist.

It is if you know the content of the choices and don't go blindly. In all likelihood in this case you do see the choices so it's a paradox and basically non sense.

If on the other hand one assumes that the answers aren't shown, then both of the 25% answers are correct.

"In a land of ancient myths, modern Greeks have created some of their own about their near-bankrupt country's future as an integral part of a Europe that will never kick them out." by NonAmericanin europe

[–]NonAmerican[S] 0 points1 point ago

As a Greek I have to agree with this sentiment. I like the argument some Greek politicians use on TV lately: "Some say we will can never leave the euro because there is no legal framework to do so. But it's very easy for us to leave on our own: If we can not borrow at all anymore, we will be forced to remove ourselves.".
