TROPHY CASE

Montreal police brought the hammer down on student demonstrators Tuesday night, enforcing a controversial law that brought tens of thousands into the streets in a protest earlier in the day that drew international support. by davidreiss666in worldnews

i understand the down vote hammer will drop because Reddit will disagree with me.

as an Albertan i see this as failure of a tax and spend government and socialism in general. we pay very little tax here in the west compared to the east and as a result pay higher tuition, i am totally ok with this. feels awesome living in Alberta where we have a conservative government that taxes you very little so you can live your life and balance it. yes tuition is expensive and i too took out loans, but i did not use my loans to buy iphones/mac book and retarded shit. i spent my loans responsibly, finding the cheapest laptop that got the job done and a 20 dollar refurbished phone with 3 year warranty from telus. there are so many cost cutting things students can do like NOT moving away from home, i do understand that sometimes that is a necessity but having completed my education i realized that undergrad is the same regardless of what university you went to unless it is UofT or Harvard. 1778 dollars over 7 years is laughable compared to the rest of Canada.

What were the days after 9/11 like? by argonautsin AskReddit

[–]Persian5life 41 points42 points ago

i am brown so life sucked that whole month. i was 14 at the time and everyone had to remind me that is was brown people who did it. everyone treated us badly for a while then it got better. it was the little things like not being smiled by clerics who usually smiled at us, and generally passive aggressiveness, i lived in a small town near Halifax Nova Scotia.

For the year ended December 31, 2007, Challenger Company reported the following financial information:

Revenue $100,000

Cost of goods sold (40,000)

Cash operating expenses (20,000)

Depreciation expense (5,000)

Tax expense (3,000)

Net income $32,000

Increase in accounts receivable $7,500

Decrease in inventory $2,500

Increase in short-term notes payable $3,000

Decrease in accounts payable $1,000

Calculate cash flow from operating activities using the direct method and the indirect method.

Direct method Indirect method

A) $31,000 $34,000

B) $31,000 $31,000

C) $34,000 $34,000

CFO is the same under both methods, the only difference is presentation. Direct method: $92,500 cash collections ($100,000 revenue – $7,500 increase in receivables) – $38,500 cash paid to suppliers (– $40,000 COGS + $2,500 decrease in inventory – $1,000 decrease in payables) – $20,000 cash operating expenses – $3,000 tax expense = $31,000. Indirect method: $32,000 net income + $5,000 depreciation expense – $7,500 increase in receivables + $2,500 decrease in inventory – $1,000 decrease in payables = $31,000. The increase in short-term notes payable is a financing activity.
