Unfortunately, most commercial alternatives are cheap plastic, not very good with that powerful jaw we have. I would have your piercer make you a nylon monofilament or PTFE retainer. He should have the tools to either prepare a grove or properly notch o-rings. You may have to find the monofilament on your own and bring Your piercer a length of it to be claved, cut and prepared. Of course, this is only in a healed piercing.

Damn, what size was your labret? Also if I'm not mistaken I believe you can use wood in your labret. That way you don't h e to worry about shattered jewelry or broken teeth

Yes I'm speaking from both experience as a wearer and practitioner. At a 6 gauge it becomes very hard to not hit your teeth as well as following an initial stretch.

As a body piercer I would recommend against it unless you know your piercer and they have the know-how to do it. However most piercers won't do this.

There has been no study finding any results as to why dogs do this. From personal experience I notice my dogs eat grass at any given opportunity. I'm assuming the diet I'm feeding them isn't providing enough fiber though.

The placement because of how much play your tongue gets. Your agitating the piercing constantly, if you truly want it have your piercer determine the deepest s/he can place it to minimize rejection.

Being the cheapest dermal spot in staten island unfortunately means I don't do many surface piercings, however, I recommend Teflon to heal and than a staple bar to wear. As far as I have seen Teflon and staple bars are the way to go.

If it rejects more than once chances are it'll reject every time. Also, the webbing of the tongue really isn't the best piercing. I won't even preform it on my clients due to its high migration rate and possibilities of speech problems.
