(video) Hopefully the last - and funniest - thing we'll hear about Yang Rui (be prepared to wet your pants) by tempurababyin China

[–]TheDark1 1 point2 points ago

Firstly, I have never considered youtube an essential part of my life.

Secondly, many Chinese people browse this forum too, so they are locked out of the discussion.

I just think that a lot of people here are kind of thoughtless on this issue, like the dudes who constantly post WSJ articles that are behind a pay wall. It seems like common courtesy to make sure your audience is able to reach the material you are presenting.

The illegal foreigners... most work as English teachers, right? by 2orangey4crowsin China

[–]TheDark1 6 points7 points ago

No. Foreign teachers would make up a small percentage of the illegal foreigners in China. The largest numbers would be from China's neighbours. Think about it, there are so few foreign teachers in China, and the vast majority have the correct papers.

It appears there is a very sizeable population of Africans living illegally as well.

From Wikipedia's article "Illegal immigration":

People's Republic of China is building a security barrier along its border with North Korea to prevent the defectors or refugees from North Korea.[63] Also, many immigrants from Mongolia have tried to make it to China. There might be as many as 100,000 Africans in Guangzhou, mostly illegal overstayers.[64] To encourage people to report foreigners living illegally in China, the police is giving a 100 yuan reward to whistleblowers whose information successfully leads to an expulsion.[65]

And from this Forbes article:

Tens of thousands of illegal aliens from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian nations are crossing into southern China each year to climb the economic ladder, as Chinese and Vietnamese officials grapple with a growing trafficking business across the porous border between the two nations.

Slightly off topic: Foreigners in China (legal) by nationality in 2011:

1.

Republic of Korea

120,750

2.

United States

71,493

3.

4.

5.

Vietnam

36,205

6.

Canada

19,990

7.

Although whitey is the visible face of immigration in China, there are far more immigrants from other Asian nations. One would expect the illegal immigrant figures to reflect and magnify that trend.

I think the Koreans had better claim to service actually. It is not like there were orderly queues, and he was clearly waiting to be served. Doesn't excuse the violence of course, but I think he had legitimate grievances.

I have read other academic reports that reach similar conclusions. Any idea of Tibet as a paradise are clearly deluded. It was a feudal backwater. In some ways it still is.

Those who advocate independence for Tibet are advocating the creation of one of the poorest nations on earth. Tibet simply could not provide its people with any kind of 21st century lifestyle without massive cash injections from other nations.

  1. The staff should be responsible for serving those who are waiting first.

  2. There are so many staff about, it seems that a second register would be feasible.

  3. Staff have a duty of care towards the customers. If a customer is being assaulted in your store, you have a responsibility to break it up. We see here at 2:20, a staff member saunters past as casual as you like. What a fucking disgusting pussy. From 2:55 we can see 3 staff waiting behind the counter, but they seem to all be female so it is a little understandable that they are not jumping the counter with a bat. tldr; night shift in a KFC, you need at least one balls-wielding person on roster.

Nary a peep so far about the tackiness of playing ads before this kind of video. How can this be good for noodle sales? Well, amongst 20-something Chengdu women perhaps...

Korea is definitely more traditional. Perhaps spouse abuse is still seen as a discussion for inside the home, rather than a public issue. I know many wives in Korea are not really allowed to do much except cook, clean and raise the kids. Of course this is all generalization and speculation - of the Korean people around my age that I have met, I don't think there are any major differences between them and Western people.

I am afraid of these "cyber videos". Why are they here and what do they want? Is this a plot by the cyber videos to turn man against man so they can silently take over, and create a brave new cyber video civilization?

Sorry to be an asshole, but it seems many people on reddit don't realize that when you tell a story in the past, you should refer to the people in the story by stating what their relationship was at the time. It is incredibly confusing to say you were at your exes house. Why would you ever want to be at your exes house?

Example: "So at my last job, my ex-boss walked into my office and..." is incorrect.
