TROPHY CASE

I know they're cute and you mean well, and I hate being a jerk, but... come on :( [buttons from r/bisexual] by v-delin CrappyDesign

Part of your identity isn't constantly being judged, miscommunicated, mistreated, looked down on

Oh, trust me, it is. It really doesn't matter who you sleep with, there's always some asshole who's going to question it and accuse you of doing something wrong or just being all-around inferior. Although I'll admit that bis have it worse than others, since most people seem to view them the same way the media does - either attention whores or men who can't admit that they're gay.

So that's something I can't really claim to have experiential knowledge of, the best I can do is think of times when I've been sneered at for "sitting on the fence" over something and go with it.

Anyway, the upshot is... I don't know my point, really, other than most of the accusations leveled at bisexuals seem to boil down to jealousy.

My point is that homophobia directly affects us all... even straight people have to deal with it. Homophobes don't say "WELL, YER ACTIN' FAGGY BUT SINCE YOU SAY YOU ONLY LIKE WOMEN I'LL LET IT SLIDE"... no, they just go ahead and assume you're gay and act accordingly, and I've been on the wrong side of that plenty of times.

That said, I'm aware that most heterosexuals could use a bit of enlightenment... but when someone tries to explain "hetero privilige" to me it makes me want to punch kittens, because it's generally used as a convenient excuse to completely ignore anything I have to say on the subject.

They're still awful.

As for "straight privilege", that's a bunch of horseshit and I won't even bother to address it. We all get fucked with for being queers; you're not special just because you actually happen to do the things certain dumbasses accuse you of. I got punched plenty of times for being a "fag", but I'm supposed to feel guilty and treat you differently because somehow I've enjoyed some sort of "privilege" that you haven't had? Fuck that. I'll treat you like a human being, but I'm not going to sit here and be told how easy I've had it.

I think I can restate his attitude less rudely while focusing on the design - you fuck who you want to fuck, that's fine, there's no need to justify it, so "Think Beyond the Binary" just seems like it's being pretentious for the sake of being pretentious.

As for the rest of those buttons, who the hell thought those two colors were a good idea? I know what they're trying to get at, but "pink" and "baby blue" are the traditional gender colors, not "magenta" and "dark purplish blue."

Here is my own cheerfully subversive crappy design showing a better color combination. I rather like the slogan... you want to change people's minds? Don't get in their face, just smile and quietly suggest that you have more fun than they do.

considering there are more people collecting welfare than there are actually working

Er........ no. If you believe this, you're not even worth arguing with.

Yes, I support all those things... in fact nothing would please me more than to send in the storm troopers to take all your money at the point of a gun! (BECAUSE LOL THAT'S WHAT TAXES ARE LIBTARD.)

Fuck off and die, asshole.

Oh, I can definitely back up my reasons for not to argue with you. Why bother? You're not capable of independent thought. I could dig up the best sources in the world to prove me wrong and you'd just dismiss them as being "biased" why calling me an idiot. So do us all a favor and kill yourself.

Contrary to mine? No. I just think anyone who spews unsourced and unverifiable "facts" along with his opinion that California is basically made up of folks who don't want to work is a "libtard" hater and not to be argued with.

You assume I don't use cannabis.

The fact is that hemp just isn't the miracle crop people think it is. If the flowers didn't get people high, it would be a "meh" crop at best. The real value of cannabis comes from cannabinoids, not the pulp.

How about the most generous welfare society in America that doesn't give anyone initiative to look for work?

Maybe that's how things work in the State of Denial, but I live in the State of California.

Since I'm sure you'll come back to me with "LOL I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA LIBTARD," let me reply to that as well: don't like it here? Move. You'll find plenty of friends in Arizona or Oklahoma. Here, we'll just tell you to go fuck yourself, because all politics aside, you're a dick.

This energy must come from somewhere that doesn't make CO2.

Is it cool if it produces helium instead? 'cause I can totally hook you up with an energy source that does that.

Fun fact: hemp is legal to grow in Canada and has yet to deliver on the many hundreds of miracles it is purported to be capable of according to stoners.

Any love for "that bipolar sound?" by Zomgondoin electronics

[–]Zomgondo[S] 0 points1 point ago

Subjectively less shrill than a MOSFET, JFET, or tube amp. Quite frankly it probably has more to do with the much lower input impedance of a bipolar design than anything else. And I make no claims that an expensive, well-designed bipolar amp is going to sound any different than anything else, or that you couldn't get "that bipolar sound" with some other type of component... but the easy way is to just use a cheap bipolar transistor and call it a day.

I'm driving things in the linear region. In fact, I'm staying well within it. I'm just not doing every single thing I possibly can to create a perfectly flat frequency response curve.

Awesome solar eclipse shadows by dchambzin space

[–]Zomgondo 1 point2 points ago

A strong eclipse will produce this effect no matter what the sun's position is, but early morning / late afternoon shadows tend to be more pronounced, so you'll notice it more... so basically the answer is "yes". HTH :)

[–]Zomgondo 2 points3 points ago

I had safe solar glasses, but I was also shooting pictures through an SLR fitted with an ND9 filter (that's NINE stops of light-dimming goodness) and looking through the eyepiece with the darkest sunglasses I could find and it was basically "aim until the sun came into view, then close my eyes and hit the shutter."

I shot at f/32 (didn't know my lens could go that low) at 1/3200 and the pics came out OK, but holy Jesus, 9 stops down from f/32 at 1/3200? That's a bright f'in object.

You should understand the effects different amplifiers have on our perception of sound.

Also (since I replied earlier) - dude, Example 2 (the PDF) is awesome so far. I haven't dived into it too far just yet, but I like the angle - fuck the theoretical approach, here is my awesome opinion and some circuits. Maybe his circuits suck, maybe they don't, but either way I trust that the writer gets audio. Thanks!

I probably should, since I'm obviously too stupid to know that LINEAR REGION is the most important thing in recording electric guitar, because, you know, electric guitar is supposed to sound all natural and should be in no way, shape or form shaped by the preamp. And if the people who listen to that recorded guitar sound don't like the nasty, metallic crispness produced by PERFECT LINEAR REGION amps they're idiots because some wannabe EE on the Internet said so!
