Anyone in Belgium on a work permit? I need your help - what documents do I need to get apostilled? by am1729in belgium

Yes, medical is fine and my company has applied for the work permit. The only thing needed now is the police certificate. To complicate matters I need one from the US but am not able to get it notarized, because they need me to be present in person... (I got it issued, just the apostille part is proving difficult)

Did you have to show/use your Police Check in Belgium? My contacts told me a police check would not be necessary for registration at the town hall..

Yes, I am in India, but I wanted to know the personal experience of another person in this process - what was required, not required. As I mentioned, one person who went last year says he didn't need an apostilled version of his police certificates from various countries - what was your experience? Did you have to get apostilled police certificates?

The Hindu Rethinks Its Ad Policy after “atrocious” Sonia Gandhi Ad by the_soupnaziin india

[–]am1729 0 points1 point ago

Apparently he got a good package for a frontpage ad in all editions of The Hindu and since he doesn't have outlets in Delhi he chose to put in a political ad for the Delhi edition.

The Chennai and other editions all had ads for his outlets and offers and such.

Updated with figure: Railway engine pulling wagons on a curved track by am1729in AskEngineers

So that means while laying a track a bend has to be stretched out over as large an area as possible. Pretty tough planning if you think about it. My lingering doubt still is how much curvature would planners allow.

Let's assume very short wagons, say 1 metre in length with just 1 set of wheels and focus on the engine load. You suggested it will the work load will be more, right?

For the first three curves the elevation will be the same... Not for the other two.

some of the coupling force will be transversal to the track and not contribute to forward movement

Yes, this is one of the problems I thought of but couldn't put to words.

length of the wagons

Then there will be a maximum possible curvature for a given wagon length, right?

For a railway engine pulling a set of wagons on a parabolic track, is there a minimum value for θ(considering polar coordinates) at which the engine cannot pull the wagons from a condition of rest? by am1729in AskEngineers

No, I mean the whole train, engine and all is at rest on a parabolic track, which 5 wagons on either arm of the parabola..

They have the skip-to-any-time option on their HTML5 player, the link to which is on the video page itself.

Actually, you can skip to any time in Vimeo, you just have to switch to the HTML5 player. The link is at the bottom left right of the display screen.

Diluting liquid soap with water: ok or not good? by am1729in askscience

Ok, vs good vs bad. Adding water may not be a good practice, meaning it's not recommended, but it's ok if you do.

It's proposed that if the RTI applicant is harmed in any manner, the requested information will automatically be made public. It's buried in the article, here's a separate newspaper report: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/article2512796.ece
