Yes, medical is fine and my company has applied for the work permit. The only thing needed now is the police certificate. To complicate matters I need one from the US but am not able to get it notarized, because they need me to be present in person... (I got it issued, just the apostille part is proving difficult)

Yes, I am in India, but I wanted to know the personal experience of another person in this process - what was required, not required. As I mentioned, one person who went last year says he didn't need an apostilled version of his police certificates from various countries - what was your experience? Apparently he got a good package for a frontpage ad in all editions of The Hindu and since he doesn't have outlets in Delhi he chose to put in a political ad for the Delhi edition.

The Chennai and other editions all had ads for his outlets and offers and such.

So that means while laying a track a bend has to be stretched out over as large an area as possible. Pretty tough planning if you think about it. My lingering doubt still is how much curvature would planners allow.

So I connected it to an external and it worked fine - the compaq and xp logos came(on the external), then(the display switched automatically to the laptop) the laptop showed the lines, I pressed the fn+f4 key for external and the screen showed fine on the external.

Something's up with the screen?

The opposite, actually. If and when there's a problem the screen is blank from the start. If this is the case, could it be something else?

No text is displayed.. Usually the 'Compaq' image loads first and then the Windows logo appears and loads(XP). But if this problem occurs the screen is blank from the start itself, then these lines gradually appear.
Problem's been there for a while now.. Driver may or may not have been updated before the problems started

I'll try updating the video driver. Will the screen work if/when I uninstall the video driver, before I install the updated version?

Not that I am aware of... Leaving the screen in the same position and switching on and off multiple times brings the screen back.

Recently the internet agency decided to allow any name after the dot, so instead of google.com there could be a website google.google or cnn.cnn or news.reddit.

I think they took that into consideration while making this change I think. So, even if they have changed it forever, I hope someone makes an extension or shows an about:config hack which will revert to the settings as they were in the older firefox versions.
