TROPHY CASE

I'm graduating at university and my final work is a game for music students. Would you guys give me some feedback? by fazzattiin musictheory

I tried playing this and I was not able to understand how to play at all, even after reading the instructions multiple times. If it says A at the bottom, am I supposed to construct an A C# E tower for an A major chord? Do they have to be in the right order? The instructions say I'll get credit for notes that are in the scale, does the order of those notes matter? When I get the chord is something supposed to happen? How does the chart in the right help me? The blox fall way too fast and there's no time to look at that chart anyways.

I once gave my mom a cd, and she told me all the songs sounded the same. I then found that her cd player was on track repeat. What are your parents' technology fails? by pseudosarain AskReddit

Asked for feedback a couple of weeks ago, got nothing.

Looking for a couple things on this track

  • What genre is it?
  • Can you make out the vocals (I'm trying to obscure them)

Other feedback is very well appreciated too. Thanks! http://soundcloud.com/travis-briggs/too-hard

But she's not long lost. If you read the final post, he met up with her a couple times, knows a mutual friend, etc.

Can synths also be used as MIDI controllers? by MyKneesAreColdin edmproduction

[–]audiodude 0 points1 point ago

You have to figure out exactly which MIDI CC (control change) message your knobs are sending and then map them to the right things in your software synth.

My latest creation, the first time I've tried recording an original vocal sample. I'm interested in a couple of things

  • what genre would you call this?
  • can you make out what the vocals are? I was aiming to obscure them

My choir is touring San Francisco in a couple days, and we need some amazing pop/rock songs to learn fast. Any suggestions? by Craigyin singing

I came here to suggest "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. it's primarily a rock number with a nice doo wop feel, makes it very singable.

I agree completely that suicide should be a viable choice for any adult. But when you think through the logistics of it, it starts to get really complicated. Who is going to euthanize a 28 year old healthy person? Should doctors be forced to? Things like that.

Ask /r/wow: I know that "Alliance: good, Horde: evil" is wrong. Could someone remind me why? by audiodudein wow

I don't know, I think it traces back to the orcs being the enemy in the original Warcraft games, right? Was there an orc campaign in Warcraft II?

I think you've hit on some of it, on why it might be misconstrued. I guess I was looking for a more concrete explanation as to why neither faction is necessarily good or evil. But I guess maybe the burden of proof should be on the person who thinks they are, right?

I would have to say that it is a bit boring. The sounds are quality, but around 0:48 I get really bored. I might try adding in elements more quickly than you are. I liked what happened around 1:50. I think that there was just not enough buildup to that point, as in, things didn't actually progress, the song just sort of busted in.

I like the general feel. I think the sidechain compression is too high, the amount that the kick is cutting through is really distracting. Otherwise, it has a ton of energy and really grabs me. Good work.

Honestly, how dangerous is it really to put your creative ideas out on the internet for peer review? by biteaterin gamedev

[–]audiodude 0 points1 point ago

I agree with Paul Graham: http://paulgraham.com/ideas.html

No one is going to steal your idea, and even if they do, the thing they end up with (if they persevere enough to finish a product) will probably look nothing like what you were thinking of.

Using "stock" sounds by MrPoppersPenisin reasoners

[–]audiodude 6 points7 points ago

Some of the most iconic early hip-hop tracks were made with the stock patches on the 808.

Don't assume that because it's a stock patch it's no good. Good artists borrow, great artists steal and all that. No one who listens is going to go "Hark! Listen! That's the Fuzz Bass patch from the Subtractor! For shame!"
