Conservatives, especially, tend not to like flip-flopping -- just ask John Kerry, who voted for Bush's war before he voted against it and Mitt Romney who supported abortion and gay rights before he opposed them. But Heritage has not flip-flopped here because Romneycare did not work or they did not like the results. 97% of people in Massachusetts are now covered and polls show the plan is popular. Heritage is desperate to rewrite the fact that it invented the individual mandate and the rest because the right wing fringe -- ie. Heritage's base -- hates the individual mandate (for no other reason than the fact that Obama supports it) and that could cause them to be discredited and lose funding.

Yeah, he supports them up the wazoo. There's no question about that. They don't need to pay him to lie for them. He would gladly do that for free. But since they are paying him to lie for them, under the best practices of advertising that have been in place for decades, his show has a responsibility to acknowledge that these aren't just his opinions, that he is being paid to shill for them.

Nobody said Heritage, which is one of the best know right-wing propaganda mills in the world, is shadowy. What they did was invent Obamneycare and the individual mandate. They're embarrassed about it now because the Dems adopted it as the basis of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and they've quietly been paying Limbaugh to do for them what he does best: lie about it.

Yeah, you've got a bad case. It's "dickslexia."

There's nothing wrong with it as long as it is disclosed to the listener. If Limbaugh were to say, "I love Oxycontin," that's certainly true and within his rights to say, but if Oxycontin paid him to say it, that fact should be acknowledged, otherwise it's propaganda.

In this case, he's been helping Heritage rewrite their instrumental involvement in developing the individual mandate, which right wingers like Rush's listeners revile, without saying that they've paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars to help them make this inconvenient fact disappear.

Right-leaning POLITICO: "In search of donations and influence, the three prominent conservative groups [FreedomWorks, Americans for Prosperity and the Heritage Foundation] are paying hefty sponsorship fees to the popular talk show hosts. Those fees buy them a variety of promotional tie-ins, as well as regular on-air plugs – praising or sometimes defending the groups, while urging listeners to donate – often woven seamlessly into programming in ways that do not seem like paid advertising."

There is both a video and text recap of the Vitter case in the story linked here. Vitter -- a vocal advocate of "family values" and savior of "traditional marriage" -- hired prostitutes frequently in New Orleans, where he lived, and in Washington, D.C., where he worked. His name and number were found in the D.C. Madam's client list. He held a news conference and, with wife at his side, confessed.
