Never ask the question "where are you going? " while they are leaving house, its purpose will not be fulfilled.

My guess is someone came up with this just coz of the nagging wife.

Two Air India employees arrested for derogatory remarks against SC, PMO on social networking sites by one_brown_jediin india

[–]electracool 1 point2 points ago*

Nothing, they can't put everyone in jail nor do they care to. They are only using the legislation to strike on those that they want to. How the heck can you even define unparliamentary language. I think the founding fathers were a little retarded because of the partition.

Edit: Grammar.

So it is a nexus if a company advertises in your newspaper ? I don't think that proves anything.

Hey /r/India, what are your favorite books? by one_brown_jediin india

[–]electracool 1 point2 points ago

I am no intellectual nor do I hate Ayn Rand, I hate her philosophy. Ofcourse, it is a best seller and continues to be so all over the world. But for a better argument on why objectivism is a terrible philosophy you can search on reddit, its been done to death already.

Everybody needs to read Ayn Rand, to really understand how stupid Objectivism is.

TIL about article 51A in our constitution: “fundamental duty of every citizen of India to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform” by mar0uxin india

[–]electracool 2 points3 points ago

Fundamental duties can't be enforced just like the directive principles, they are present to "guide" people. But, what can be enforced is section 295(A) of IPC, I am pasting it verbatim here.

1[295A. Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.— Whoever, with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of any class of 2[citizens of India], 3[by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise], insults or attempts to insult the religion or the religious beliefs of that class, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to 4[three years], or with fine, or with both.]

So what would happen if you criticize religion or beliefs is pretty obvious here. Indian Constitution has pretty generic riders for freedom of speech, the impetus is on the executive mostly and with the current state of the executive we are in for a rough ride.

The curious case of the rotting grains: an attempt to understand why we waste tons of grains every year [Essay] by Reddictorin india

[–]electracool 4 points5 points ago

Long and informative post and it explains why the FCI is having excess stocks, but the reason people are raising a hue and cry is because the FCI is allowing these excess stocks to rot when there are people starving. Also , isn't there a food security bill coming up ? If there is no demand why is the govt. showing that huge expenditure that is to be incurred ?

New Rules! by brownboy13in india

[–]electracool 3 points4 points ago

Sorry to appear as if I am nitpicking, but it might be better to state that though they are not welcome you wouldn't censor them. Would give a better impression in my opinion, and less things for us to downvote.

New Rules! by brownboy13in india

[–]electracool 7 points8 points ago

Why is there a need to explicitly state that personal abuses as well as mimic accounts are allowed ? Appears as if you would love to have them back. It would have been enough to state that you don't censor anymore.

Dear r/India, my girlfriend is working for an Indian NGO. She set up this petition against wage theft in Gurgaon and needs 2,000 signatures by May 1st. Would you lend your support? by onegoodturnin india

[–]electracool 0 points1 point ago

It is so easy debunking aint it ? Because people are selfish doesn't mean they have can have no altruistic motivations or that they don't care about the common good. As per your calculation, I don't know what part of the country you live and get away with paying 1000 bucks, I pay about 2000 and it tends to be an hour or two of work or less (bachelors, so he excuses himself).

The minimum wage is 121 per day ( 8 hours of work ) = 121/8 = 15.125 per hour. 2000/60 hours = 33.333 or what you pay, 1000/60 = 16.666. Both more than the minimum wage.

It is sad that when people support something (even if it just a click of a mouse, it still shows that you care) or because that they are not saints themselves they are branded pseudo intellects.

[–]electracool 0 points1 point ago

Really ? You want people to work at less than shitty wages because there might be a little increase in the price ? And if you read the petition it is also about their social security fund not being accounted for. Maybe you need to get down from that horse kind sire.
