TIL that Israel, recipient of $3 billion in US foreign aid, provides universal healthcare to its citizens. So according to the GOP we should subsidize healthcare for Israelis but not Americans? by windsurferkin politics

[–]elephantsrcute -1 points0 points ago

In other news - any aid given is bound by rules on how it should be spent, and unless the US aid to Israel is given for universal healthcare, your reasoning is rather weak.

So getting $3 billion a year from the US to bolster your military doesn't save your own state money to pay for social uplift? Hmm. I guess my reasoning is weak.

This is reason to amend the constitution to guarantee internet freedom, and prevention of the state to limit, or restrict, or monitor... The wording of course needs to be worked out by our community, but I feel like it would be beneficial to humanity because these communications we have bring peace by showing how the state manipulates populations against each other, or uses economic slavery to hold back social progress... we all just want to be happy.

The system we have is the way it is because the majority of people are, always have been, and always will be sheep.

Why are they sheep? What makes you and I not sheep?

This just proves we live in an outdated system that relies on indoctrinated, idealistic, nationalist citizenry whom are taught to be exploitable workers, and good consumers.

Without completely removing dogma, nationalism, and monetary based education we will continue to have citizens who are not rational, logical thinkers. The state perpetuates this education system, as it is the very mechanism that keeps them in power - This is why every party, and political group push education as one of their main focal points.

We must dismantle the state, and institute an education system, or model, that is focused on creating logical and rational human beings, void of dogma, or patriotic indoctrination, and centered on science, and arts, and truth.

Until we do this, we will never be free, but held down by the will of the minority to legislate morality and ration out freedoms to the privileged.

Thanks :) and thanks! Your post was great!! I guess it definitely comes from experience because it really spoke to me. I don't feel I would have been able to do this without TwoX's wake up calls. Scrabble, wine, and take out food it is. I'm already shunning movies with romance, it's wayyy to hard to watch happy relationship endings right now. I think it's time for goal setting and making myself not feel small :) <3<3

When he comes home to you, does he come home to you fuming and sad, only to joke about it or try to start a fight? Does he belittle your reasonable feelings of anger and resentment, tell you that you're overreacting and you should just let it go? Do his words make you feel guilty for not trusting him, and make you doubt your own reactions and emotions?

All. Of. This.

He came home finally two hours ago. I told him all about how I feel, and he didn't even once say he was sorry, or that he was wrong. He just tried to turn it around on me, and yell at me, and blame me, saying that "I should have called him earlier than I did." .... Can you believe that??? It's like him trying to justify his actions and make himself feel better by manipulating me and make me feel guilty...

After I read everyone's comments here, something just sort of clicked. This guy isn't right for me, and how he tried to just make me feel crappy confirmed it.

So... I... Did it. I told him I couldn't be with him, because he has no respect for our relationship, and him not calling me and staying out all night, only to walk home from work, smelling like alcohol - still, just shows how he says he "loves me" but treats me like I'm some throw away!

And I changed my relationship status on facebook. I think I feel better :) Some of my girlfriends are coming over to have some wine and just relax and I am looking forward to this.

I guess just at the moment I'm really sad, because when it came time to break up, he didn't even care, didn't even try to apologize then, or try and save us at all. It hurts... Makes me wonder how much of this I could have avoided over the last year.

<3 you TwoX

A year. We are both 24.

It's day two and he somehow got a ride to work, his car is here, not sure how he will get home (not by me that is for sure), I now have to go to work, so tired and still haven't even spoken to him at all.

There's been a lot of good advice in here, and it just makes me feel better to get some understanding. It's just hard because I keep feeling like I won't meet someone else, and I know it's stupid to think that, it's just this trap I'm in right now :(

Oh and the day before this happened, I was using his iPhone to read reddit, and the last thing he searched was "how to delete phone call history" or something to that effect. Whatever all that means. I didn't think anthing to much of it, but now I am.

Santorum plays the race card: "I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money" by nosaysoin politics

[–]elephantsrcute 9 points10 points ago

I noticed that reddit likes to act that Ron Paul supporters are wrong for claiming a media black out on his presidential campaign. I don't understand how it isn't obvious. The Media has claimed it's Perry, or Bachman, or Gingrich, or Romney, it goes on and on. But never have they said it's Ron Paul. In the last week of the Iowa primary, with Paul leading, the media has put all of it's focus on Santorum, and you're right, he is their "golden child" and they are hoping if he wins, they can officially ignore Paul.

I'm tired of this machine holding us all down. We need a serious candidate and I think Ron Paul is the one.

And yes, I believe in evolution.

In his backstage interview while on the Tonight Show, Ron Paul said that he would not enforce any federal laws against marijuana, saying that there is no authority in the Constitution to regulate anything a person puts in their body. by Mind_Virusin politics

[–]elephantsrcute -7 points-6 points ago

he doesn't believe in the separation of church and state.

He does believe in the constitution though, and in that document it specifically states there is a separation...

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion

So that particular point you listed sounds a bit, off?

Also, just pull one thing to debate on, so what about the DOE? What have they accomplished in the last few decades? Our schools in the US are far behind that of our 1st world counterparts. It seems to me that usually the president just uses the DOE to implement their education policy, even if states are opposed, and they muscle cities and local governments policy around with cutting funding threats.

I voted for Obama, but I think Ron Paul is on to something.

But if forced, I guess I'd have to side against your "movement".

Interesting you used the word "force".

So basically your against democracy, equality, and ending corruption. That's perfect, you'll be forced to do many things in the world you are shaping.

one doesn't have to be a participant for this to happen.

How could you possibly type that with a straight face? This is what's wrong with America, you expect someone else will fix this for you, and you don't have to participate to make it happen (your words not mine).

It's incredibly upsetting, and I feel that people who have your outlook are the reason for our decline.
