Google Translate takes a lot of source texts (Google Books, etc.) having official translations, and uses them where available, which is one reason it's so damn good.

He may be, doesn't matter though. Things like wearing pants vs. shorts, vs. a dress aren't very rational. (Since tradition isn't very rational.)

Anyway, this irrationality is probably a good demonstration of our undirected evolutionary process rather than a well laid out, designed plan.

Also the intense magnetic field of the sun does interesting stuff to matter; a great example being sunspots. In sunspots, magnetic vortices suspend plasma in a cooler, low energy spot as other places along that vertex blasts stuff rapidly into space, like what happened this week.
