Same here. I've also got a little program that watches wpa_supplicant's control file for when it changes to a new network. Then it restarts dhcpcd to get a new lease.

The way I understand it is that WEP is static, and doesn't need to be updated. When you use WPA, the keys change periodically, and that is what wpa_supplicant is running for.

I only ever use it for command line operations, I don't use the API. But from what I can tell it is a drop in replacement for ImageMagick.
