I always bring my work home when visiting friends and family. by gnu_facein beerporn

Not sure about end of history since that was before my time. I am currently working at the brewery as an assistant brewer.

Sink the Bismarck is actually our Hardcore Ipa which is frozen down, in much the same way as Tokyo is frozen down to create Tactical nuclear penguin.

There was more last night but we quickly got stuck into a beer and cheese night so missed a picture. Still some Bismarck in the fridge though.

Only visited the place a few times but found it amazing and wish I could go back there soon. Just the scale of everything is like nothing I have ever experienced. That and the fact that it is a very beautiful city in its own way, and amazingly clean (city centre). Oh, and beer.

If you like old engine oil you can get it at most Tescos now. It is one of their Finest range, labelled Traditional Porter. I usually pick up a bottle of two if I am in the mood since it is pretty cheap.

What are you drinking this week? (May 11th - May 17th) by geefzillain beer

[–]gnu_face 1 point2 points ago

Work got a load of guest beers in, but so far my favourites have been:

Hitachino Nipponia

Hitachino Sweet Stout

Hoppin' Frog BORIS

Port Brewing Santa's Little Helper

Sadly the hoppier beers haven't travelled as well, so stuff from Stone and other Port Brewing ones weren't as nice as they should have been.

They shouldn't be selling them as singles since we only produce them as a four pack. Sounds like they are trying to rip people off, although if you prefer one to the rest I suppose you can get your favourite in bulk.

First time eating pot cookies was at a festival in San Francisco with my ex-girlfriend and a friend. Of course we bought them off someone there and never knew the dosage, so after having about one and a half giant cookies each we wandered off to find Beck. BOOM. Thirty minutes later we were off our tits and paranoid as hell. Our friend wasn't too bad, but I thought everyone was an actor and my ex started crying and trying to dig her way out under the fence. Eventually we formed a conga line to make sure we didn't get separated and snaked our way through the throngs to find pizza. It was only until about about three or four hours later that we started to come down, just in time for Radiohead to start their gig with There, there. That song always holds a special place for me now. And when buying said cookies we also bought about 4 joints as I wanted to make sure we got "high enough". Think that was accomplished.

That was amazing. Just the attention to detail and quality of the final product. You certainly have a lot of talent. Hats off to you.

Once in the best relationship of my life, but now I'm considering ending this LTR by Flytain relationship_advice

[–]gnu_face 7 points8 points ago

You moved too quickly and suffered the consequences. Of course, the moving in was out of your hands, but it is a very hard process to go through. You have only known this person for a year, been going out for six months, and then you are shocked that she isn't the person she seemed at the beginning of the relationship. When you start courting someone, fuck if you are actually the person you really are. You are a subdued, conscientious version of yourself. You want to impress, and therefore you water down some of the traits that you would normally let fly. However, you two, due to circumstances, have been pushed together and have gone straight from the honeymoon period into the shitting in the same toilet period. It isn't pretty, and that is obviously going to come as quite a shock. If you two had more time then you would have been able to slowly reveal the real you. But yeah, unfortunately that hasn't been the case and now you two have to decide if you can overcome the "issues" (whatever those may be) and work through them. It might just take time, but if you don't have the patience to last a month with this woman then I don't see a long future ahead of you, let alone travelling the world together. Remember, if you went ahead with that plan that this person would be the one you have to rely on at all times in a foreign country.

Is this the wrong thing to do? by sinrithin relationship_advice

I really hope this is a troll account, because this is a whole load of bullshit. You are treating your boyfriend like crap, and don't deserve a relationship with another human being in the slightest. I mean, I can somewhat blame the guy because he is letting you walk all over him, but the fact that you are crapping all over him is just horrible. How you two have lasted 4 years I don't know. Break up now because, not only are you hurting your boyfriend, but the whole situation is a complete mess. Understand that a relationship takes two people to work, not just one person satisfying the other's needs.

Need some advice about a long term relationship by Kiinikitiin relationship_advice

[–]gnu_face 2 points3 points ago

A relationship that spans your late teens and early twenties is always going to be fraught with issues. Those years are basically when you grow up as a person, have new experiences, go to university etc. It is going to be a tough time, and it is possible that your relationship won't be able to handle the constant changes. I was in a similar situation, although I managed to live with my ex for a year which did help a significant amount. That said, it didn't work out in the end due to long distance, and this might be the case for you. Who knows, once you two settle down you might be able to sort something out, but if you guys can't handle a 2 hour distance after 4 years then I see a long road of arguments ahead. Plus, if you aren't even happy after such a long time with someone, then it probably isn't right to keep it going.

I used to save all sorts of bits and pieces from my previous relationship. Just thought it was a nice thing to look back on after a few years. Stubs from parks or landmarks, those silly squished pennies etc. If you are in a long distance relationship it is always nice to look in that drawer or box and have a good laugh about times gone by.

This was pretty much my go to drink when visiting Chicago. It is pretty potent, so you only need a couple to get "blasted". Of course, some of the flavours taste horrible, but it is one of those drinks you have to try.

Well, I am only in my second week now, but it isn't too bad. I get along well with all the brewers, and I am going to try and make regular trips out of town as often as possible. Most of my time during the week is spent at the brewery though, so I haven't yet had downtime to get bored. Everyone says that the worse part about the job is the fact it is in Fraserburgh, so only time will tell how I will cope with it.

Just recently landed a place at Brewdog as an assistant brewer. Suffice to say that I am pretty excited, but pictured above is one of the benefits. Free beer every month.

One of my favourite IPAs. Drank this so much when I visited the US because it is easy to drink, but also tastes amazing. Plus price wise it is not bad.
