Simply by doing them. Just like dips, one day you can do one, two months later your adding plates.

haha...not really. Have you ever been to a city? 99.9% of people are just people.

I'll give you a tip for life that involves avoiding violent crime. Don't owe anyone money, don't sleep with any one's man or woman, and don't get into drugs.

Works for me....I've yet to be murdered on the subway.

NYC is pretty damn safe, subway included. Don't understand why people think otherwise.

What should I major in? by Fluorescencein Design

My advice is, if you are going to major in an art, then go to an art school.

A good art school will teach you how to problem solve, and that's all design is BUT it's the skill most don't have.

Look at the work (as a whole) that comes out of RISD, MICA, UArts, Parsons vs state universities or liberal arts colleges, there is a difference.

I say it's a personal thing. I would agree with the 450 - 500 mark but guys like Konstantin Konstantinovs almost never use them except in competition.

Honestly...keep it simple, eat well and eat real food and work hard. If you are gaining fat, eat better or less and if your performance is suffering, eat better or more. Don't worry about your weight, worry about body fat.

The problem with a lot of advice when it comes to strength / muscle is, many people are small looking to get big. They eat like a horse, take supplements like crazy, trying to beat nature. There is less information about average->bigger people trying to get stronger.

For me, I'm 5'11 210lbs and fairly lean. I eat twice a day, lunch and dinner. I handle dairy well so I drink both raw milk and kefir and eat grass-fed butter. In addition I drink coconut water and apple cider vinegar + water.

More food: grass fed yogurt, fruit when in season, vegetables in season, fish, grass-fed beef and free range chicken, dark greens, avocado, celery root, mushrooms and root vegetables. A good amount of lentils and quinoa, watermelon throughout the summer. In addition, most dinners have a good amount of olive oil used.

I also enjoy good beer and wine...I'm not much of a fan of hard-liqueur.

Here is my training program... http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/bhtxu/my_routine_for_strengthwhat_do_you_think/

What's a bro workout? Sounds a little strange.

If they just want big arms and/or chest then they're doing the right workout.

My Routine for strength...what do you think? by psurrenain Fitness

For squats, I get out of the hole ok but when my thighs are at a 45 angle, it's tough. I think your idea of dropping to the 4th hole is good.

I don't do GM's too close to my max. They are at the end and after DL and rackpulls, my lower back is tired. Maybe on week 4 I should do heavy GM's with no DL.

My sticking point on the DL is mid / upper thigh. My DL 1RM is 500

Exactly. The decline really isn't a very good exercise. The dip and weighted dip hit everything up top and if you want to go heavy, you don't need a spotter.

Help with dead lifts. by waterdevil19in Fitness

[–]psurrena 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Was it the first time you deadlifted? It takes more than one session for your body to learn any motion. Do it for a month and then post your question.

Don't modify the lift, just keep at it and feel retarded for a bit...it's called learning. Start somewhat light but not too light and be patient.

In the end, it's a pretty natural movement and once your body learns the coordination it will come together.
