I was asked to make the logo with the intention of printing it on an 8' banner - so I wasn't thinking too much of about detail loss. But now that it's mentioned this will serve as their new logo, and I'm sure it will end up barely readable it the corner of their letterhead.

I feel as if the est. date helps balance it. If you were to remove it would you just leave white space, or add some other element?

I looked at some other "Bevel" typefaces to try and figure out the best way to fix the embossing, but got nowhere. How would you specifically go about this?

I think it looks very nice except for the Celebrating 30 Years circle. See how the g in celebrating touches the circle, and how squished together 1981 looks? I'd play around with that a little more - perhaps use the font from the title instead of Myriad.

I biked from Detroit to Fargo this summer. Went through Ann Arbor, Lansing, Muskegon, Milwaukee, Madison, Minneapolis, Duluth and Bemidji. Best time of my life, was able to couch surf 90% of the time and ninja camp the rest. Let me know if you have any questions about routes or people to stay with - met some incredible folks out there including one young tourer who rode from Portugal to Shanghai a few years back.
