Honestly speaking, I think both mom and son have a point. Granted, she doesn't have to be a whiney bitch about it but there are probably a lot of factors we as viewers are not aware of. As any good parent, mom is worried about the future of her offspring but is missing an important point: her son actually enjoys what he does. Yet maybe he is a bum that doesn't contribute to the economic well being of family. In all, I think we should refrain from criticizing people, especially when it comes to mom-son relations.

Stocks can also be taxed and, if I'm not mistaken, they're taxed above what you originally paid for the stock. The capital gains tax is at 15% right now, which is what people making 8k to 35k are taxed each year in the USA.

You're right, Google IS older than that. However, it wasn't until 2001 when they hired Eric Schmidt as their CEO. The first iPod was also launched in 2001.
