The problem is the Angels are struggling while the Nationals are 22-14. It's just a bigger story right now. The media is only focusing on the Angels' problems because that's the big hook. Once we get back on track, Trout will see plenty of time in the limelight. He's also primed to be a ROY candidate. Won't be long before he's a household name.

From what I've heard, Eppard might just be interim. If DiPoto's planning on getting rid of Scioscia too, which I think he might, then it would make sense to replace the manager before hiring a hitting coach.

Anyone else think DiPoto will eventually clean house and get rid of Scioscia too? I was doubting it at first, but this definitely made a statement. We all know Scioscia's been protecting Mickey up until this year and had his hands in the front office. DiPoto just went over his head.

Maybe there was no other convenient time to squeeze it into their schedule, so they tacked in onto the end of a homestand/CA series. They probably try to minimize travel distance throughout the season for each team as much as possible.

Ever since interleague has been introduced, they've become more flexible with the timing of the games outside of the standard two weeks. As long as every team plays the same number of interleague games, it doesn't really matter.

I agree 100%. The offense is completely lost right now and something's got to give. Trumbo has proven he should be in the #3 spot, as he's obviously our best hitter right now. It's time for Pujols to swallow his pride and do something for the overall good of the team. Scioscia should bat Trumbo 3rd, Morales 4th and Pujols 5th.

And while we're on the topic, Wells should volunteer to ride the bench so we can give Bourjos some time in CF.

It especially doesn't make sense to make a bullpen panic-trade when the offensive production is still in question. If our pitchers were consistently getting run support, it would be a bigger issue... but unfortunately they're not.
