There are so many unpredictable factors to take into account that may cause extreme depression. The majority of which have nothing to do with genes. The world and human life is so incredibly complex. I'm not saying that the "depression gene" isn't a contributing factor in some cases - it most certainly is. What I am saying is that some people - bright, healthy, and perfect for reproduction - might just happen to run into just the wrong combination of random events and circumstances that lead them to the "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" mindset. One might argue that their supposed inability to cope with such a strong combination of negative events means they are weak, but just use your imagination and consider extreme situations. While extreme and rare, such things still occur.

You'd be surprised at the level of teamwork and strategies required in certain game types for Unreal. It's not all just pubs, deathmatch, and 1v1.

What's ironic is that I've been saying the same thing about Unreal vs CS for years. The level of skill required for Unreal far exceeds that of Counterstrike. The first week I played CS I was banned from 2 servers because the noobs thought I was cheating. Pretty sad if you ask me! To this day, I have not come across a game that takes more skill than Unreal. Quake definitely comes close though! Really f'n close.

It's a mod for the original Unreal (the game UT99 was based on). Although that makes me wonder if something similar exists for UT99...

Yes! Made a world of difference. My younger brother showed me a mod they have now that makes Unreal look comparable to most modern games. If you're interested I can get him to send me a link or two so you can see. It's pretty impressive.

In my opinion UT was kind of a newbified version of the original. That's just my opinion of course.

Such a crazy coincidence that I just installed that game yesterday after not playing it for years. I used to play it avidly for hours every day. To this day I have not encountered a game as fun as the original unreal's multiplayer.

Thanks for your input. We are however fully aware of the shortcomings of current "app building" technologies, and these shortcomings are mainly what Loggur addresses... with our own spin on the concept of course. Here's the thing: as technology and software progresses, most of the time, it's based on preexisting concepts. For example, what separates Facebook from Myspace is the implementation. A bold statement, I know... but Loggur will be to the old app creation software as Facebook was to Myspace. Due to Loggur's nature, I don't see it becoming at all close to Facebook's size, but the analogy remains. Our goal is to set a new standard.

It's not like that. It's tooltips that inform first-time users of how to use the apps. They're quite small and move around the application to guide you through it and can of course be disabled with just a click. When Loggur detects someone using an app for the first time, the last tooltip will typically explain that they can create apps similar to the one they're using.

I added a backup mailer library for when the native mailing function fails. It's slightly slower due to authentication (which is why it isn't the primary method) but you're good to go now! :)

No, I'm listening. Again, the problem is that your feedback is based off of an incomplete reference. You're failing to understand the full scope of my marketing strategies which isn't your fault because I haven't revealed them entirely (my marketing strategies/methods of communication & presentation, not the product description). I did describe them briefly, however; but I'll reiterate: I do not plan or anticipate the landing page of which you're basing your judgments regarding my communication skills to actually be the primary source of communication for what my product does... it will most likely be a secondary or even tertiary source that the vast majority of visitors will see after experiencing the product firsthand... so listening to what you're all saying about the front pages is mostly irrelevant. Note that I said "mostly"... I will take into account your feedback when the time comes. That time is not now, as it will only delay things further and create more work in the future when I revert to the original presentation as it is based on the aforementioned strategy.

I know why you said it. And I am indeed listening. The problem is that my vision for the direction of this simply does not align with current standards and expectations of which are causing a lot of confusion among the general population. I will iterate and adjust my marketing and representation after people are able to get a hands-on feel for loggur's capabilities; until then, conforming to your standards of which are misguided due to your uninformed initial assumptions and misunderstanding is pointless. The problem so far is not the lack of information or vagueness, it is the fact that when reading it, people have nothing to relate to, as Loggur is relatively conceptually new. Everything you need to know is in fact described on the website. As I said in another comment... People seem to be having trouble imagining a world where anyone can create and modify applications on the fly, so when reading the very first words on the page, "Build your own apps!"... the first thing they relate to is "Oh so I hire someone to build apps for me!" (as a few people in the comments have actually concluded) rather than "I can build my own apps with this!" as it actually clearly states. The problem is that what I'm doing is new, plain and simple. Everyone responding here clearly has preconceived notions and expectations that leads to some confusion. For example, your preconceived notion is that building apps requires native SDKs, IDEs, Libraries, Hiring programmers, etc. and so there becomes a mental block when reading the text on the website. People seem to be having trouble imagining a world where anyone can create and modify applications on the fly, so when reading the very first words on the page, "Build your own apps!"... the first thing they relate to is "Oh so I hire someone to build apps for me!" (as a few people in the comments have actually concluded) rather than "I can build my own apps with this!" as it actually clearly states. Remove that mental block and things will become clear as you read the text. When the Loggur applications are released into the wild and people use them, and a popup appears informing them that in seconds they can build applications just like the one they're using, the consensus of "I can't build apps" will slowly but surely fade away... and the rest will fall into place. You can try to convince me otherwise all you want, and I appreciate your feedback and constructive criticism, but the world can never change without eliminating mental barriers; so I'm going to stick to the plan and let the product and user experience do that - with the home page as a supplementary source of information that ties it all together after eliminating preconceived notions and confusion with the actual applications.

Its #1 feature is actually the very first thing it says on the page: "Build your own apps!"

It's virtually impossible to put things in simpler terms than that. Would someone please explain to me how "Build your own apps!" is confusing?
