TROPHY CASE

Seattle Subway's latest Facebook post has been shared by 150 people in two days - showing their friends they want to live in a city with a great transit system. Will you help us get more attention? by Benschin Seattle

that's a distinct possibility, for the future. i wouldn't be surprised to see something like that happen. but i think the key for us as seattleites to realize is that we will be more likely to be successful getting this done in seattle first rather than waiting for the rest of the region to catch up. we are the ones that have the densely populated neighborhoods, and we are the ones that are currently feeling the worst brunt of refusing to do this 40 and 90 years ago, when this was put to the voters in the past.

i think the problem is that if we wait for the approval of the suburbs then yes we will be waiting longer than we would like. seattle, which already funds it's own portion of sound transit, can and will build this on a much more accelerated schedule. but we as citizens need to take the lead and get the ball rolling.

the same way we can afford the capitol hill line that is currently under construction. we decide that we want this for our city and then we vote on a tax package to fund it. seattleites have shown in the past that they will support projects like this (more so than the rest of the county) and i think they will support this if given the chance.

520 toll late fee 'does not fit the crime,' says penalized driver by russ_walkerin Seattle

[–]tiff_seattle 2 points3 points ago

the states have reciprocal agreements with each other for tolls. so you would be billed by your home state and if you refuse to pay, then you wouldn't be able to renew your tabs. exact same thing if i were to go to another state and cross one of their toll bridges.

agreed. if i actually had to stay at home to receive my mail, like i do with ups and fedex, i would never get any mail at all.

That article specifically used Boeing as an example, which generally uses other shipping facilities than the Port of Seattle. IIRC they even have their own dock in the Mukilteo/Everett area that they set up specifically for receiving 787 parts. Boeing has also been known to use 405 and i-5 for transporting parts between Everett, Renton, and Auburn. Their facilities in Seattle are more geared towards final delivery and research, which also does not use the Port of Seattle.

You are correct, but I wanted to find a Seattle angle for my title. BTW, my friend in San Francisco actually drove a huge ass 1970's hearse, she stored in the Western Addition. This is relevant both to this subject and to your username.

In 1 or 2 years probably not a lot. In 20, 30, 50 years, quite a bit.

which is why the uncovered lot with bigger spaces just to the right of this would have been perfect for them :)

well... if they were to either:

a) park in the non compact lot just to the right of this that isn't full, but is alas uncovered

or

b) park in the space on the right,

then when the person on the left leaves, the problem takes care of itself.

Today's luxury apartments = tomorrow's budget apartments, unless they do it really well and they end up like the classic Fred Anhalt buildings. But that's not bad for our city either.

Cougar Gold is the shit. I would have never discovered it if I didn't have WSU relatives. But here is a little protip: Beecher's Flagship tastes a lot like Cougar Gold and it's made by a Seattle company.

I talked to a Beecher's rep at the QFC on Broadway in Seattle, and they told me the founder is a Coug.
