What story do you tell that no one belives until you provide proof? (NSFW pics inside) by Leuffenin AskReddit

Definitely good you're still here to regale us with your experience. Quick question, trivial compared to the topic of this post believe me, what's the timepiece you're wearing in that picture?

"If you want the American Dream," Ed Miliband says, "go to Finland." by newpua_biein TrueReddit

[–]treebox 0 points1 point ago

Do you feel a lot of the stigma associated with immigration in Finland has a lot to do with the colour of the immigrant's skin? I'm quite nomadic and I intend to live and work in another country when I graduate in a number of months. One thing I find interesting is that if I talk to German students, for example, about maybe working in Germany they'll be happy for the idea and think its awesome. I'm an Irish & British white male. It's interesting because talk to them about their country in detail and maybe they bring up the topic of immigration to their country, they'll complain to me about immigration when I would be an immigrant myself, yet they don't feel bothered by the thought of me living and working in their country. I believe it's because I am white.

I just find it an issue of fairness. Stealing a TV show from a director is the same as stealing a photograph from a photographer, thus the irony.

I agree, but I still find his attitude ironic.

This is pretty much the irony of reddit. For example people complain that HBO shows get canceled yet they torrent them, giving no revenue to the producers of the content. Also my friend is a photographer and becomes irate when people steal and misuse his work, yet he torrents huge quantities of TV shows for free.

Anyway didn't mean to put a downer on anything I just think the concept is interesting if there's a state of perpetual conflict operations. Congratulations to both of you : ]

I agree, also Thunderbolt is pretty much in it's infancy as a connection standard, there is a severely limited amount of peripherals that support the connection currently when compared to USB or even FireWire.

When I read your comment you had -1 points which means 2 people so far had downvoted you. Not a huge amount obviously but this stuff is really starting to piss me off about reddit. As many have said, reddiquette is dying very quickly and may even be dead, downvoted comments these days often didn't deserve it and people should really be replying in written form to say why they disagree.

Back on topic; upvote for rendered bacon grease, it's an awesome way of seasoning cast iron, I did it to my parents pan!

The Fuck-It Point:A film about the dark side of civilization, why we should bring it down and why most civilized people don’t. by Visiblekarmain Documentaries

[–]treebox 0 points1 point ago

To be honest no I don't know of any, but I feel a bit compelled to look now you mention it. My opinion above isn't exactly measured, it was just the gut feeling of mild frustration I got when I began watching the documentary in this submission. I have a tendency to make snap judgements based on gut feeling, I should probably learn to think about things a bit more. Perhaps the other side of the field doesn't need to field any documentaries in defense simply because it's the well defined social order we already live by and doing so would leave people wondering why the argument was even being made.

One thing I thought was great about 'Why We Fight' (2005) is that it used elites from both sides to study the military industrial complex in American society. The documentary was obviously biased in framing the American military as pandering in the private sector - that being the point of the documentary in the first place - but it gave time and consideration for those being criticised to mount a defense which I felt made it less a tirade of despairing complaint and more of a balanced piece of work which allowed room for you to make your own decisions. That's a good style of documentary in my opinion, presents you with the facts and some opinions, and even tells you what it thinks in conclusion, but gives room for individual judgement.
