Even good grinders have trouble producing fine enough coffee for Turkish.

A response to Jeff Atwood's "Please Don't Learn to Code" by nullnullnullin programming

My mom is fairly non-technical. She uses MS Excel in her job. If she knew just a bit of coding she could do her job faster. (I solved a problem with a small script that wa taking her hours to do manually)

It's unlikely you would have trouble talking about drugs if they weren't illegal is all I'm saying. Drugs are or were a part of a lot of people's lives and yet we're forced to pretend they don't exist and not talk about it. My parents were hippies and they were hesitant to talk about drug use even though, like you, I could infer that they probably did some drugs when they were young.

Parents and children, both afraid to admit their drug use to each other. I love our war on drugs.

When I was 14 I gave birth to a child raised as my brother, my mom has cancer and wants to tell him the truth, I think it's not good, am I wrong? by sistermotherin AskReddit

[–]zraii 0 points1 point ago

Your dying mother has a lot of wisdom that you're not respecting. She is older than you and gave birth to you. She has been through more in her life and you should allow her to do what she think is right before she dies or she'll never have the chance.

That said, the family that let this go until deathbed is clearly not into openness, an apparently it was your father's choice. Maybe you should let your mother be who she might have been without your father there to be ashamed of your situation.

Hypothetically, what would be the best way to safely destroy, dispose of or neutralize a quantity of MXE? by rainthunderlightningin DrugNerds

I guess I wasn't sufficiently sarcastic to allow it to drip through the Internet. Mixing cleaners will usually == death. Just say no to mustard gas.

I hesitate to recommend the V60 without also getting the Hario Buono pour over kettle. This sounds absolutely bonkers (and the kettle is not cheap by kettle standards) but you will have a very hard time controlling the flow with most standard tea kettles.

Hario Skerton hand grinder also produces a lot of fines which can just ruin a cup from the V60.

I'm 21 and have a VERY high receding line, I can no longer cover it up with my fringe (bangs), what's the next step/hair style? by 31Maxin malehairadvice

My friend has exactly that hair line and he buzzes his head. I think it's a good look, though your hair actually looks fine too.

I remember it covering all memory. i.e courtroom testimony is just like any other form of recall. It's all brain all the way through and recalling a memory is not playing a recording but reactivating the same neural pathways which may produce skewed results based on current biases.

Edit: a word.

Safest Dissociative or Hallucinogenic by KeWilliamsin askdrugs

[–]zraii 3 points4 points ago*

Arsenic is natural a well. As for trip strength and duration however, mushrooms are shorter lived. LSD rarely makes people vomit, mushrooms often do. That alone decreases "safety" of mushrooms compared to LSD IMHO.

Edit: removing a claim I have no source for.

Just mix all your household cleaners and that will erase all knowledge of said drug. Caution: may result in death of everything. (edit: jeez people, sarcasm)

Seriously though, I think you overestimate the drug's potency (or you have way too much) or you underestimate how much pharmecudical by products are produced by just normal people who take prescription drugs. Hint: not all of it is metabolized before you pee.

15 y/o need a simple to maintain hairstyle. Any help? by frostydaepicin malehairadvice

[–]zraii 0 points1 point ago

Like most posts on mailhairadvice, there's almost no comments, so I'll add an uninformed one. You could try parting your hair on the opposite (left) side and using a bit of product. Avoid anything greasy looking because if you have skin anything like mine was at that age, you don't need extra oily appearance. (grain of salt and all)

The filming and writing style is very Malcom in the Middle. That's the show I'd most compare it to.

There are perfectly happy well-adjusted men that wear women's clothes. I have plenty of times — and this isn't a throw away (5yr club so I better be comfortable with it). I would have never admitted anything like that when I was in high school, so don't worry at all because it gets better.

Also, no one ever said you have to tell your parents anything unless you want to. If they're anti-gay they may be rather closed minded but it also could teach them something they needed to learn first hand. Just let them know you love them (always let them know that). Parents are people too.

Edit: after rereading your first post, madeforthisreason, I want to reiterate that it's not just that "there are people who will accept you for this" but literally: it IS normal. You are normal and wonderful whoever you choose to be and you are, by far, not alone.

Part of growing up is slowly admitting all the things to your SO that you never thought you'd tell anyone. Eventually they lose the shame/fear they once held and just become part of who you are. This is what people mean when they say they discovered who they really are and learned to love themselves. Straight, gay, trans-*, or just really into knitting, it's natural and it's ok.

Unfortunately, memories change every time we access them and are not recordings of events but reconstruction using your brain how it is now.

There are places and events where you can go be whoever you want to be for a while. You can be as free as you want to be when you aren't around people who will judge you. Burning Man is founded I this idea but there are many others as well.
