Can anyone tell me what they are eating/drinking in this funny Hungarian short movie? by numlockin hungary

Ayay sire! And there are only two groups: those who like it, and those who'd rather eat, well whatever.

Basically it's a stew/dish made of pig's lungs and heart.

TIL a Hungarian psychologist wrote a book on how to raise a genius. He proposed his ideas to a teacher. They married and raised three chess grandmasters, two of them became record-breakers and one even became the first female to beat the top ranked male (Gary Kasporov). by lightsaberonin todayilearned

Well, pro chess players might be weird, but as I had the honour to meet with Judit Polgár several times (although mostly on playgrounds and kids' playing houses) I'd say that she's sharp, clever and really good mother, while still the world's best female player yet. She also co-wrote a playbook about teaching kids to play chess, and my daughter really enjoys it.

Why is it so bloody difficult to delete unwanted files from you Kindle online archive? by empkaein kindle

[–]zsoltika 2 points3 points ago

No, you can do it a bit faster... search for a pattern within your documents, then if you see a whole page/list of documents to be deleted, paste this in your URL bar (works in Chrome/Firefox at least):

javascript:(function(){ var v = new RegExp("PersonalDocuments"); if (!v.test(document.URL)) { return false; } {a=document.getElementsByClassName('rowBodyCollapsed');for(var i = 0; i<a.length; i++){Fion.deleteItem('deleteItem_'+a[i].getAttribute('asin'));};return; }})();

Was anyone here living in a communist country before 1989? If so, what has it been like before, during, and after the revolutions? by salakastoin AskReddit

[–]zsoltika 1 point2 points ago

I'm still living here, and spent my 1st 20 years (now 40) countryside Hungary. Totally agreeing, but want 2 mention that some of the now-haters are just wrong. And our recent years are defined by a right-wing like monomaniac (that's an opinion U NO), who campaigns like it is 1984... And he has a stromg fellowship (sadly).

Anyway our future is not promising, and some of us are really depressed. The really strange thing (for me), is that some really clever people thinks that the directions are awesome...

Being a kid near to the southern limit was good, until you were not blacklisted. But nowadays a former primary school classmate of mine, who had a communist party secretary dad is sidelined, alcholic, his father commited suicide, and there are no chance for him. Meanwhile our prime ministers father was a communist party secretary.... ಠ_ಠ

Reddit, How is a regular breakfast on your country/region? by shinzzlein AskReddit

[–]zsoltika 1 point2 points ago

Hungary, so called countrymen breakfast:

  • huge slice of rustic bread
  • typical rustic sausage (usually made with garlic, red pepper, onion, etc) or bacon
  • potate, baked in its jacket, peeled while it's hot, then put some butter on it
  • and onion, sliced and salted and/or covered with vinegar
  • (and for the serious countryman: a shot of pálinka (kind of like brandy, but stronger))

Well, that's my favourite. Then you are not need anything till supper.

You can still set your country to. U.S. and your address to some random Alabama pizzeria then order it. Right after delivery set it back to the original. This method used to work.

I was dumped by my gf because she thought I wasn't going anywhere in life. What excuses have you heard when you were dumped? by devidualin AskReddit

If only I can listen to my mind, not my heart.

I'm still talking to her, once or twice a week, I used to bug her about it and her next boyfriend, who turned out to be a gay (no offense, of course).
